The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) is creating a task force to make changes in the wake of Orlando’s failed Sloth World attraction that led to the death of dozens of animals.

A planned International Drive attraction called Sloth World will not open following dozens of animal deaths, conservation groups said late Friday, as its 13 remaining sloths were placed in the care of animal experts at Central Florida Zoo & Biological Gardens.

The USDA inspection report, as reported by CBS17, says the child leaned in to kiss or hug the sloth just before it bit her in the face. Inspectors wrote that the zoo "failed to provide enough distance and/or a barrier between guests and the sloth to prevent guests from being harmed,

A child was bitten by a sloth at the Aloha Safari Park in Moore County, a United States Department of Agriculture inspection report said. The report said the child was bitten on the face during a "public interaction event" where visitors can hold a sloth in their lap while an attendant supervises.
