Maybe! Stranger Things Season 5 Episode 7 “The Bridge” ends with Kali and Eleven quietly agreeing to their plan to sacrifice their own lives in the final battle for the Upside Down. They exchange this vow with quiet, meaningful nods as the group officially enters the Upside Down.

Volume 2 ended with Kali convincing El that the only way to truly stop the "cycle" of doctors trying to create an army of kids using their blood is for them to die. Specifically, for them to die when the group eliminates the Upside Down and Dimension X. And it looks like El has, unfortunately, bought into her plan.

It certainly seems like it, now that Max Mayfield (Sadie Sink) has finally escaped Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower) in the fifth and final season of "Stranger." By Episode 6 of the season, we have seen a lot of thumb-twiddling, with our characters running around in plot circles; maybe this episode's big ending is a sign that bigger things are coming?

Stranger Things season 5 part 2 aired on Christmas, and these last three episodes were rather weak, including the sidelining of Eleven.
