When a wolf lowers the front part of its torso while keeping the hind part upright, this behavior is called a bow. Wolves may bow to stretch or to communicate with their pack. A wolf may bow while stalking another as part of an ambush or to initiate social chasing. A play bow is the most common behavior we observe here at the International Wolf Center with our ambassador wolves.
